We reserve a tour: what questions should be asked to a tour operator

Unfortunately, now more and more often there are situations when a tourist operator from a service provider turns into an arrogant swindler. And instead of getting quality service and a well-deserved rest in exchange for the money given, the traveler becomes embroiled in an unpleasant game called “tour-snag”.

After announcing on the site of his travel agency a surprisingly profitable “last-minute” offer, in order to attract the attention of unsuspecting customers, the manager can later explain to you that this tour is no longer relevant, and they simply have not managed to remove ads from the site yet. And then it will offer you to choose any other tour from the “remaining”. However, the prices for these tours, as you understand, will differ significantly from the prices of the notorious “burning”.

Or the manager will in every possible way dissuade you from traveling in the chosen direction, motivating him with much more “profitable” and “interesting” offers for you. In general, there are a lot of options, “divorce”. The only thing you need to know when you are in a similar situation is where the exit from the travel agency is.
In addition, when booking a tour, be sure to check with the operator the following points:

The relevance of the selected tour, the availability of hotel rooms, and the ability to go in this direction on your chosen day;

How much will your tour cost, taking into account the tourist tax, visa, whether the price includes excursions (if yes, then specify which ones), the cost of the flight, insurance; also ask about the cost of hotel accommodation – whether the price is indicated per room or per person (if the price is per person, then specify how much the entire room will cost to rent – you may not like the proximity of a stranger);

Name of airline, type of flight (direct or with change), arrival / departure time, name of the party who will meet you at the airport and deliver to the hotel, her contact details; how far the hotel is from the beach, city center and entertainment centers; what services will be available to you at the hotel for free, and for which you will have to pay.

In addition, do not be lazy to look at travel forums and read reviews about the chosen travel agency, tour and hotel in order to have at least minimal information when meeting with the company manager.
