How to behave a woman in India
The wealth and desperate poverty, the luxury of palaces and the dirt of dilapidated residential neighborhoods, the vivid beauty of film actresses and strict moral and ethical standards for women – all this is wonderfully united by India. So what should a woman traveling in India pay attention to in order not to get into an unpleasant situation?
Appearance
Remove tight and translucent, open clothes from your wardrobe. Keep in mind that women are not allowed to wear bathing suits in all areas of India – check with local residents about this point. Loose cotton short-sleeved shirts are acceptable.
The traditional sarong in the kit, for example, with a T-shirt, will not cause censure. Observe the local women and, if necessary, go to the local store for a new thing.
Behavior
Keep in mind that in India there are slightly different morals, and therefore always be on the lookout. Do not talk to strangers, try not to look at men too closely – this can be regarded as flirting. Do not answer personal questions. Do not be left alone with a man, be it a taxi driver or a store seller – enlist the company of other tourists. Do not allow strangers to enter your room, even if this is the desk clerk. If you still do not mind intimate dating, then keep in mind that India is in second place in terms of AIDS patients, after South Africa.
In addition, take good care of your things and money. Unfortunately, general poverty and devastation created a high level of theft in this country. Keep the bags under control, but rather connect them with a special belt. Keep the money, if possible, in the hotel safe, or in parts in different places: in the room, in the bag, in the pockets of clothes. Carefully check bills for services and goods – almost everywhere they can cheat.
Transport
For transportation, you should choose a train, or a bus is the safest and most convenient means of transport in India. It’s better to have a small bag on wheels with you. Large luggage can result in large losses if it is stolen. And given that you will not be able to especially flaunt in outfits (we already talked about this), then its purpose is significantly narrowed.
Observing basic safety rules and following the indicated tips, you will ensure yourself a wonderful trip and get only positive emotions from visiting India….
